  • African Americans - A requestor recently inquired for any information Truckee-Donner Historical Society held about a Mr. Albert Johnson (1832-1911), a well-known and respected resident of the area during the late 19th century, and about the broader African American community in the area during the 19th and early 20th century. Here is a link to a preliminary draft prepared by Chaun Mortier addressing those two questions.
  • Photos of Children's rides on the Railroad, December 2021
On Saturday, December 4, Truckee-Donner Historical Society and Truckee Donner Railroad Society members joined forces to host the children's railroad that runs through Truckee Donner Recreation and Park District's tract.  The weather was fantastic and the kids and parents were lined up from the station to past the railroad crossing gates for both rides and sign ups.  427 signups and 680 rides (plus or minus).
