The Truckee Library celebrated the Transcontinental Railroad's 154th anniversary with a screening of "Legacy". This documentary chronicles Truckee's Chinese Railroad Workers' contribution to the completion of the Transcontinental Railroad.
Guest speakers from the Chinese Historical Society of America, Sue Lee and Paulette Liang answered questions after the film. Phil Sexton was also present and is affiliated with the 1882 Foundation. Sue Lee is the editor of the book, "Voices from the Railroad", and Paulette Liang is a contributor. Light refreshments offered by the Friends of the Truckee Library.
This event was held at the Truckee Donner Park and Rec. Community Center, 10981 Truckee Way.
